Preparation for use:

• Clean the measuring surfaces and the guide using a cotton cloth; do not use solvents or acids.
• Check the zero position and adjust, if necessary, with the supplied wrench to ensure that the line labeled "0" on the drum aligns with the horizontal line of the scale.

Method of measurement:

• The drum can be rotated only after unlocking the locating clamp.
• Spread the measuring surfaces to a distance slightly larger than the object to be measured.
• Rotate the drum to roughly set the measurement, and then continue tightening by turning the friction clutch knob.
• Finally, tighten with the drum until the clutch engages; further rotation of the knob will no longer turn the drum.
• Read the measurement result according to the measurement principles shown in the accompanying diagram.

It is recommended to secure the measured part or the micrometer before starting the measurement for optimal accuracy.

Taking multiple measurements and calculating the arithmetic average of the results is also advised for greater reliability.
