The STHOR 79365 soldering iron is a reliable and efficient tool designed for various soldering tasks. It features a traditional design with a resistance heater powered directly from a wall outlet, ensuring it is nearly failure-proof with proper care.
Dimensions of the soldering iron:
Other dimensions:
The soldering iron heats up to 350°C in just 3 to 4 minutes.
Maintenance tips for the soldering iron tip:
The tips of STHOR soldering irons are coated with a material that minimizes oxidation. However, prolonged heating and mechanical damage can degrade this protective layer, which may lead to oxidation problems when soldering. A simple method to maintain the tip is to tin it: when the soldering iron is warming up, apply a small amount of solder to the tip and remove the excess with brass shavings. This will create a protective layer that helps prevent oxidation. It is advisable to tin the tip after each use.
Important note:
Soldering irons powered directly from a wall outlet must be used with a plug that has a grounding pin and should be connected to a grounded outlet to avoid electric shock, which can lead to injury. All STHOR soldering irons come with a grounded plug connected to the metal heater housing.
