Tips & Tricks:

• Most hedges and shrubs experience a first growth spurt during the spring. It’s best to trim them first before summer, ideally between mid-May and mid-June. Fast-growing species might require an additional trim after summer, from late August to mid-September. Always trim on a dry, cloudy day to avoid sun damage.
• The frequency of trimming depends on the type and shape of the hedge. A boxwood hedge with a complex shape will need more frequent pruning, while a tall hedge that you wish to keep in its natural shape may only need trimming once or twice a year.
